Dr. Takeo Kanade wins 2016 Kyoto Prize

Dr. Takeo Kanade, a member of the board for the Japan-America Society of Pennsylvania, has been awarded the prestigious Kyoto Prize for Advanced Technology. The Kyoto Prize has been given to Dr. Kanade for his contributions to computer vision and robotics. The Kyoto Prize is awarded to individuals who have contributed significantly to the cultural, spiritual, and scientific betterment of humankind. A cerermony will be held on November 10 in Kyoto, Japan to present Dr.Kanade with a gold medal and a 50 million yen award.
